These are N-Channel enhancement mode silicon gate
power field effect transistors designed for applications such
as switching regulators, switching converters, motor drivers
relay drivers, and drivers for high power bipolar switching
transistors requiring high speed and low gate drive power.
These types can be operated directly from integrated
circuits.

If an application requires a prescaler output HIGH signal level more positive than +5 V, it will be
necessary to use a discrete transistor or some other type of inte rface circuit. The use of an external
pull-up resistor returned to a higher voltage is not recommended, due to the possibility of causing
latch-up in the output transistor. This voltage limitation is one of the trade-offs necessary to achieve
transistors with the bandwidth required for l GHz counting.

Thermal Shutdown

Thermal shutdown protects the module's internal circuitry
against excessively high temperatures. A rise in tempera-
ture may be the result of a drop in airflow, a high ambient
temperature, or a sustained current limit condition. If
the junction temperature of the internal components
exceed 150 aC, the module will shutdown. This reduces
the output voltage to zero. The module will start up
automatically, by initiating a soft-start power up when
the sensed temperature decreases 10 0C below the thermal
shutdown trip point.
